Isaac Rabin School became part of the IB International Community in 2009 when we were authorized to teach the Primary Years Program (PYP) for children from 3 to 12 years old. Later, in 2013, we received authorization to deliver the Middle Years Program (MYP), intended for students between 11 and 16.

The IB's continuum of education programs is unique in its academic and personal rigor, encouraging students to excel in their studies and personal growth. The IB's goal is to inspire a lifelong pursuit of learning, marked by enthusiasm and empathy.

The IB offers quality international education programs that share a powerful vision. IB education:

  • Is learner-centered: learner-centered IB programs promote healthy relationships, ethical responsibility, and self-improvement.

  • Develops effective teaching and learning approaches: IB programs help students develop the attitudes and skills necessary for academic and personal success.

  • It takes place within global contexts: IB programs deepen understanding of languages and cultures and explore ideas and issues that are relevant globally.

  • Explores meaningful content: IB programs offer a broad, balanced, conceptual, and cohesive curriculum.

WHAT IS IB EDUCATION?

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), intended for children ages 3 to 12, focuses on the development of the whole child and their capacity for inquiry and discovery, both in the classroom and the world around the student. It consists of a curriculum framework defined by six transdisciplinary themes of global importance, explored with knowledge and skills derived from six disciplinary areas and transdisciplinary skills, with a strong emphasis on learning through inquiry.

The PYP is flexible enough to accommodate the requirements of most national or local curricula and offers students the best preparation for further study in the IB Middle Years Program (MYP).

The IB Elementary School Program:

  • Addresses students' academic, social, and emotional well-being.

  • Encourages students to develop independence and take responsibility for their learning.

  • Supports students' efforts to understand and learn to function efficiently in the world.

  • Helps students establish personal values that will form the foundation upon which international mindedness will develop and flourish.

Middle Years Program

The Middle Years Program (MYP) is designed for students ages 11 to 16. It provides a framework for learning that encourages students to become creative, critical, and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students to make connections between the traditional disciplines they study and the real world. It fosters the development of communication skills, intercultural understanding, and global engagement, essential qualities for tomorrow's young leaders.

The IB Middle Years Programme:

  • Holistically addresses students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being.

  • Provides students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to address complex issues and situations and act responsibly in the future.

  • Ensures breadth and depth of understanding through the study of eight subject groups and interdisciplinary learning.

  • Requires students to study at least two languages (the language of instruction and an additional language of their choice) to foster their understanding of their own and other people's cultures.

  • Enables students to participate in community service activities.

  • Helps prepare students for higher education, the job market, and a lifetime of learning.
